Guerrier, 87, of Little egg Harbor, died on August 23, 2019. Formerly of Hammonton, he played football for Hammonton High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a Corporal and worked as a chef in the field Artillery Battalion in the U.S. National Guard. He spent most of his life in Northfield with his children and loving wife of 65 years, rosemarie. Together they owned and operated the Gateway Coffee Shop in Somers Point for more than 11 years and he was a mem- ber of the Somers Point Lions Club. Joe loved hunting, fishing and golf and spent several great years living in Florida with his wife. He is predeceased by his wife, rosemarie (nee Pietrofitta); parents, Frank and rose; brothers, Frank, Jr. and Anthony; and sister, Helen rando. He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon and Dawn. He was the loving grandfather of Shane, Dustin, Courtney and Dylan, and great-grandfather of Caleb, Tully, rinoa and Avery. A visitation and services were held on Tuesday, September 3 at the Marinella Funeral Home, Hammonton. Henrique Tome Henrique Tome, 75, of Hammonton died on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tome was born in Lisbon, Portugal and came to the United States in the early ‘80s. He owned and operated europe Upholstery along with his brother for more than 30 years. He enjoyed playing soccer, pool, swimming and watching his favorite team, Benfica. He was an amazing artist with his upholstery work. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maria Tome; daughters, Bela Tome-Marrero (eddie) and Ana DeVries; brother, Antonio Tome (Anna) and sister, Luisa Fererra (Antonio). He was the loving grand- father of Carmen, Stuart and Tiffany. Services will be at the convenience of the family. in lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice. William “Bill” Baglivo William “Bill” Baglivo Sr. of Smyrna, Del., died peacefully on Au- gust 23, 2019 with his daughter Nancy at his side and a host of special nurses from 5D at Christiana Hospital. Bill was born and raised in Hammonton. He worked for a short time at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia where he learned many trades. He then worked in HVAC until he switched careers in 1984 and became a registered Nurse. He enjoyed nursing and said that his hands had never been so clean. He began his nursing career at Burdette Tomlin Memo- rial Hospital in Cape May Court House, where he worked in the iCU unit. He moved from N.J. to Middletown, Del., in 1988 where he con- tinued his nursing career at Kent General Hospital and then at Chris- tiana Hospital in 1995. He retired from nursing in 2005 from Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. Bill had many stories from his time at Christiana Hospital and he so en- joyed telling how he rode the elevator with Bruce Willis. He was especially proud to have worked with the first Bone Marrow Transplant patients at Christiana Hospital on floor 6C. He was a caring and compassionate individual and will be missed by everyone that knew him. He is predeceased by his son, William Baglivo Jr.; parents, Adeline and William Baglivo; sister, Mildred Tassone; brother, Louis Baglivo; niece, Adeline (Baglivo) Grasso and his first wife, Dorothy Baglivo. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Bernard) Meyer of North Carolina and Nancy (David) Baglivo-rees of Delaware; his aunts, rita (Baglivo) Sarao and rose (Baglivo) Lacivito and sister in-law, Mary Baglivo all of Ham- monton. He is also survived by his second wife, Mary Petty and her family. Bill was known as “PupPup” or “Great PopPop Bill,” and leaves behind four grandsons, robert (Korin) Baglivo, raun Baglivo-rees, Dylan Baglivo-rees and Andrew Meyer, and three great-grandsons, isaac Furtaw, Jakob Baglivo and Nathaniel Baglivo all of Delaware. He was also affectionately known as “Uncle Billy” to his nieces, Patty (Tassone) Bernard, Linda Tassone, Betty Tassone -Ford, rosemarie Tassone, Judi (Tassone) Campbell, Marylou (Baglivo) Triboletti and his nephew, Jimmy Baglivo. He was the fun uncle, the one to be silly with and make them laugh. He will always be remembered for his humor and young wild side. There are also a host of great- and great-great nieces and nephews. Grampp was born in Frankfurt, Germany, where she met her hus- band Alrecht, who was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and stationed in Frankfurt after World War ii. They were married for 69 years. Prior to World War ii, she studied fashion design and sewing in Germany, earning a Master’s Degree. She was a homemaker, but later worked as a dressmaker in ready-to-wear and bridal as well as home decor. She is predeceased by her husband, Albrecht W. Grampp; her son, eric Grampp and brother, erhard Opfer. Surviving are her son, Mark Grampp of Hammonton and her sister and brother-in-law, Gudrun and John Quinn of Milford, Pa. Arrangements made by Carnesale Funeral Home. Helen Carlene Buscemi Helen Carlene (Lewis) Buscemi, 78, died on August 18 at home after an extended ill- ness. She was born and raised in Greensboro, N.C. She was the only daughter of the late Carl A. Lewis and Helen (McCall) Lewis. When she was a teenager, the family moved to Hammonton, where her sweet southern charm was welcomed. She was an accom- plished dancer and was featured on the Grady and Hurst Show in the 1950s. As an adult, after marrying and moving to Vineland, she raised five children and enjoyed Ocean City and family gatherings. Carlene was a long-time employee of Bradlees Department Store and managed several Burger King restaurants before retiring. in her retirement she en- joyed going to church, thrift store shopping and the company of her dogs and cat. She is survived by her son, Gaetano Buscemi and his wife Brenda; daughter, Donna Mainiero; son, Frank Buscemi and his wife Hoa; son, Steven Buscemi and his wife Neely and daughter, Cara M Mora and her husband eric. She is also survived by her grand- children, Michael Mainiero iii, Lindsey Buscemi-Lipinski and husband Jonathan, Nicole Mainiero, Melissa Buscemi-D’Avenio and husband Greg, Kristin Buscemi, Westley Williams, Marco Sanchez and Paige Sanchez and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Lewis and wife Brenda. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 2 p.m. to dusk at Hammonton Lake Pavilion. Criminal mischief on construction work site by Gabe Donio G AzeTTe S TAFF W riTer HAMMONTON—Police were contacted at 7:05 a.m. on August 30 about an incident at the corner of 12th and Washington Streets because of vandalism done to the construction equipment working on the street repair at the site, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said. “We received a report that the construction equipment that was parked overnight in the construc- tion zone between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. on August 30 had been dam- aged by thrown pieces of broken asphalt that had been ripped up by the street repair,” Friel said. A John Deere backhoe had three windows and a window frame broken, Friel said. Police are investigating the mat- ter, Friel said, adding that the esti- mated cost to repair the vehicle is $4,000 according to the contrac- tor.
