RECYCLING , from Page 1 started volunteering on the committee , and when she left the foundation , Kevin Friel , Jen Bill and I kind of took it over . We met up with her and she showed us the ropes , and explained to us how to logistically run the event and how it benefited the Hammonton Education system ,” Hetzel said .
Hetzel explained that the Hammonton Education
Foundation uses this event as a fundraiser to donate money back into the school system , whether it be from the recycling collection or the sponsors of the event .
“ It ’ s wonderful for the teachers ; they come up with such innovative projects to offer the students , above and beyond … it really does enhance and enrich the programs in the schools ,” Hetzel said .
“ We fund projects that are
creative to enhance the students in the Hammonton district , all four schools ,” Struble said .
The Hammonton Education Foundation strongly believes in the teachers of the school district , and wants to further help them along with their projects . By recycling at Recycling Central on September 17 , people in the community can help raise money for the projects , helping the education for their students .

unused medications . The recycling event is designed to help the community safely recycle important information , and to also allow for other unwanted items to be donated . Residents in the town will pay a $ 20 donation to bring three trash bags worth of information and recycling , and $ 10 for a hard drive to be destroyed safely . The DocuVault Delaware Valley group has provided a secure shredding for the people in the town , making sure that important paperwork is completely erased . The process is also eco-friendly , and helps to dispose of the documents and data safely .
“ It ’ s a good way for people to be green , and to keep their documents safe and secure because you can ’ t just throw them in the trash ,” Struble said .
Businesses will be charged by the pound at the following rates : $ 50 for up to 150 pounds ; $ 75 for up to 250 pounds ; $ 150 for up to

500 pounds ; $ 200 for up to 750 pounds ; or $ 250 for up to 1,000 pounds .
The shredder has a 10,000- pound capacity . Businesses that wish to participate must reserve their space by Sept . 9 .
Struble further emphasized this thought , saying that not only does recycling help the community and benefit the school district , but it also helps people be more cautious of their environment . By recycling , people can safely reduce waste in their environments and towns , promoting a green lifestyle .
