The “safety yellow”-colored shirt would show the town’s tradi- tional blueberry logo on the front, and on the back, would read “Parks Department” with a circu- lar logo that is currently being de- signed. In other news, Hammonton Youth Soccer Association Presi- dent and Mid-Atlantic Baseball Academy Treasurer Paul Massey appeared before the commission to request that the academy be sanctioned so it can utilize one field located behind Warren E. All of our kids played there last year, but we didn’t like the travel, we didn’t like having to go there three times a week for practice. So, what we’ve con- vinced Mid-Atlantic Baseball Academy to do is to give us Mid- Atlantic Baseball Academy East, and we are starting that program right now,” Massey said. Massey said the field will be used for practice, while the home games are already played at the lake park’s Little League fields. A motion to sanction the Mid- Atlantic Baseball Academy for the use of the facility and the field be- hind the Sooy Elementary School was made by commission vice- chair Paul Ordille, seconded by commission member Ian Fisher and passed unanimously. Public Works Manager/Busi- ness Administrator Jerome Barbe- rio said the use of facility request would apply for a period of Au- gust 15 to November 30, Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In other news pertaining to use of facilities, Barberio said in be- tween meetings, he approved use of facility requests for HYSA’s an- nual submittal to use the town’s fields, the Historical Society of Hammonton’s use of the Ham- monton Canoe Club for its meet- ings and the New Jersey Commission for the Blind to hold lunches for approximately 35 sen- iors in the pavilion at the lake park. Barberio also introduced three new use of facility requests for Hammonton Towne Drama to use the Canoe Club for a gathering after their production of High School Musical on Saturday, Au- gust 26. The other two UOFs were for the Hammonton Bulldogs youth basketball organization to utilize the Canoe Club for sign- ups and to use the gymnasiums at Hammonton High School, the Sooy Elementary School and Hammonton Middle School from October 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Satur- days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A motion to approve the three new use of facility requests was made by Borda, seconded by Or- dille and passed unanimously. The Hammonton Parks and Recreation Commission will next meet on Tuesday, September 19 at 7 p.m. in town hall chambers.
