HaMMonton—Police made
a number of burglary and theft ar-
rests last week, according to a re-
port by Det. Sgt. edward Slimm.

Slimm’s report:
• on august 14 at 6:05 a.m., a
subject came to police headquar-
ters to report the theft of his cellu-
lar phone from his residence
located in the 200 block of east
orchard Street, the report said.
Cpl. Christopher Clements inves-
tigated the initial theft complaint.
at approximately 11:58 a.m. on
the same date, Sgt. Sean Grasso
reported to the united Methodist
Church, located at Bellevue av-
enue and Schoolhouse Lane [Vine
Street], in reference to a suspicious
person complaint, the report said.
upon arrival, anthony Calvetti,
60, of atlantic City, was located
on scene, according to the report.
He was found to have a warrant
from atlantic City for $100, the
report said. further investigation
discovered he had stolen the pre-
viously-reported stolen cellular
phone which was recovered on
scene, and he was charged with
theft and released on his own re-
cognizance. Sgt. Grasso was the
arresting officer, the report said.

the Boy Scouts of america’s
troop 58 appeared before the
Parks and recreation Commis-
sion on august 15 regarding a re-
cent application to adopt the
wooden walkway along the lake’s
shore (behind the pavilion) for a
two-year period in order to host
regular cleanups.
the troop applied for the appli-
cation to adopt the portion of the
park on May 8. the troop plans to
clean up trash along the walkway
every other month throughout the
next two years.
