DiMeglio, 73, of Hammonton, died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong Hammonton resident. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and Glassboro State Col- lege. John was a farmer, and he owned and operated Sandy Hill Fruit Farms. He also formerly taught at Berlin Community School. John was an avid golfer and loved spending time on the golf course. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge 1658 in Hammonton since 1972, where he formerly served on the House Committee. He was a member of the Camden County Board of Agri- culture, where he formerly served as president, the Camden County Agricultural Development Board, where he formerly served as vice- chairman, and the Burlington, Camden and Ocean County Soil Con- servation District where he formerly served as a board member. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary R. DiMeglio and his sister, Rita DiMeglio-James. John is survived by his two daughters, Lisa DiMeglio-Quinlan (James), Michelle DiMeglio; his sister, Arlene Chiumento (James); his grandson, Connor Quinlan; his companion, Alice Campione-Lemons all of Hammonton, and several loving nieces and his nephew. Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph’s, 226 French St., Ham- monton. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 6550 Delilah Rd. #501, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234. Arrangements made by the Carnesale Funeral Home. Luis Perez-Reyes Luis Perez-Reyes, 87, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – Mainland Divi- sion. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was an area resident for most of his life. He worked for Mrs. Paul’s Frozen Foods and later Kellogg’s in Braddock and retired in 1990 after 40 years of service. He was predeceased by his wife, Margarita. He is survived by his children, Angelo Reyes of Davie, Fla., Tencia Reyes of Blackwood, Irma Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, Jose Reyes, Charles Reyes, Doris Reyes, Daysi Reyes, Nancy Colon all of Hammonton; a brother, Oscar “Cheap Charlie” Reyes of Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends attended a Funeral Service on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the Landolfi Funeral Home, 237 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton. Interment was at Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton. Arrangements made by the Landolfi Funeral Home. Thomas B. Eames Thomas B. Eames, 66, of Hammonton, and formerly of Millville, died peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Tom was born in Upper Darby, Pa., and raised in Millville. He graduated from Millville High School and Jacksonville State Uni- versity in Alabama, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Tom worked as a slot operations shift manager for more than 25 years at the Playboy Hotel and Casino and retired from the Showboat Hotel and Casino. He was predeceased by his father, Norman and brother-in-law, William Biggs. He is survived by his wife, Fran Fragola Eames of Hammonton; his mother, Vivian (nee Neisser) and his sister, Linda Biggs both of Millville; his nephew, Scott Bryant; his niece, Brandi Sheridan (Michael); his great-nephew, Kyle; his great-niece, Lexi; his brother-in-law, Joseph Yanora; his sisters-in-law, Irene Russo (John), Sylvia Bertino (Stephen) and their children. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday evening, August 3, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday, August 4 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. with Funeral Services at 11 a.m. all at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Edward Slimm said. • On July 28 at 12:12 a.m., Den- nis Marconi, 53, of Little Egg Harbor Twp., was arrested at the intersection of Central Avenue and Valley Avenue, Slimm said. He was found to have two ac- tive warrants from Mullica Twp. in the amount of $170, Slimm said. Marconi was released pending a new court date, Slimm said. Slimm said Officer John Amen- dolia III was the arresting officer. • On July 28 at 4:33 p.m., Min- erva Rivera, 32, of Hammonton, was arrested at Egg Harbor Road and Orchard Street. She was found to have an active warrant from Mullica Twp. in the amount of $120, Slimm said. She was re- leased on her own recognizance pending a court date, Slimm said. Class II Officer Gordon Ellis III was the arresting officer. •On July 28 at 6:43 p.m., Tyrece Dunlap, 34, of Camden,was arrested at the Ham- monton Train Station on an out- standing warrant, Slimm said. It was a “no bail” warrant from Camden, Slimm said. He was turned over to the Cam- den Police Department after his arrest by Officer John Amendolia, Slimm said. • On July 30 at 1:15 a.m., Danisel Contes, 40, of Winslow Twp., was arrested in Winslow Twp., Slimm said. There was a warrant for his arrest from Ham- monton in the amount of $1,500, and he was placed in the Atlantic County Jail in lieu of payment of Civil War event Aug. 12 HAMMONTON—The Batsto Citizens Committee Inc. (BCCI) will host a Civil War encampment at historic Batsto Village featuring the 12th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry (12th NJVI) on Saturday, August 12, 2017. The 12th NJVI will set up their camp near the entrance to historic Bat- sto Village and be on the site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Emanuel “Pepper” Brown Emanuel “Pepper” Brown, 70, of Folsom, died on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his residence. Born in West Palm Beach, Fla., he lived in Folsom for many years. He was a truck driver for Lash Construction Company of Mays Landing. Pepper was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen J. Brown. He is survived by his three children, Norine Mauger and her husband, Mel of Folsom, MaryAnn Gillespie and her husband, Bobby of Newfield, Frankie Brown of Folsom; his three grandchildren, Ava Mauger, Jake Mauger and Amanda Gillespie, and his “adopted children,” Katrina Scagliola and Manny Saad. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017, 11 a.m., at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Officer Renzo Mendoza was the arresting officer, Slimm said. •On July 30 at 6:35 a.m., Jas- mine Jones, 26, of Winslow Twp., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop in the location of 12th Street on July 30 at 6:35 a.m. Jones was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influ- ence of alcohol and was charged with DWI, reckless driving, open container and careless driving, Slimm said. Jones was released later in the day, pending a court date, Slimm said. Slimm said Officer Renzo Men- doza was the arresting officer. One-vehicle accident injures man by Gabe Donio G AZETTE S TAFF W RITER HAMMONTON—A one-vehi- cle accident on Pleasant Mills Road at 6:53 a.m. on July 25 seri- ously injured a Mays Landing man, Det. Sgt. Edward Slimm said. Stuart Smith, 35, of Mays Landing, was operating his vehi- cle, a 2002 white Honda Civic, on the 600 block of Pleasant Mills Road when he failed to negotiate the curve and ran off the road, im- pacting a large tree, Slimm said. Smith sustained injuries to his head, back and neck and was found to be inattentive, Slimm said. He was transported by am- bulance to Atlantic City Medical Center for treatment of his in- juries, Slimm said. Slimm said he was also issued criminal complaints for posses- sion of controlled dangerous sub- stance marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug parapher- nalia. Cpl. James Pinto was the ar- resting officer, Slimm said.
