Council hears reports from PWM/bA, solicitor

Hammonton Public Works Man-
ager/Business
administrator
Jerome Barberio’s report at the
June 25 council meeting, he re-
ported that the town received a
reply from atlantic County execu-
tive Dennis Levinson after Mayor
Stephen DiDonato sent a letter to
the county regarding the condition
of approximately 12 county roads
in town that are in need of im-
provements. DiDonato was absent
from the meeting.
Barberio said Levinson referred
him to speak with John Peterson,
county director of planning and en-
gineering, who called to inform
him that the county’s annual budget
for road improvements is $2 mil-
lion, which he said means Ham-
monton’s county roads in need
probably won’t be tended to in
2018.
Next, Barberio announced that
council sent a request to the county
for repairs needed at the atlantic
County Human Services Building
(also known as the Hammonton
family Success Center), located at
310 Bellevue ave.
