Mazzeo , 61, of elm died suddenly on July 3, 2018. Bob was the owner of Mazzeo Lawn Services, was a driver for DiMeglio Co. in elm and retired supervisor from Caesar’s Hotel and Casino in atlantic City after 32 years of service. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Wicks); devoted father of amanda (Bob) and robert (Liz); dear brother of ronald Mazzeo and Maryann figueroa (Bruce) and the late Joseph; proud grandfather of Karlie, Malayna, and Jacob Mazzeo; also survived by many nieces and nephews. funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7 at the Solid rock Baptist Church in Berlin. Jose A. “Pop” Lopez Jose a. “Pop” Lopez, 77, of Mullica township died on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Seacrest Village in Little egg Harbor township. Born in Jayuya, Puerto rico to angela rivera Lopez and Jose Lopez he was the eldest of eight children. He met his wife ramona in 1961 in Philadelphia. Pop was the glue that held the family together, but he still couldn’t survive without his loving wife ramona by his side every step of the way. in Philadelphia, he worked for the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. He moved to Mullica township in South Jersey in the summer of 1970. there he worked for Kessler Clothing Co. in Hammonton, tilton Movie theater in e.H.t., Lutheran Church in egg Harbor and was a car- penter by trade for his brother Pedro to provide for his family. He was de- voted to his family and worked very hard to provide for them. He was very protective of his family and dedicated to his children’s lives; attending each and every one of their sports practices, games and extracurricular activities. His mottos were “education first” and “Never Quit.” He was a die-hard Phillies and eagles fan and attended their games with his family. He was predeceased by his wife, ramona B. Lopez; his son, Leo Cowley and his brother, Howard Lopez. He is survived by seven children, rosemary Cowley, Nicholas Cowley (Suzanne), Jose Lopez, angela Lopez, Michael Lopez, ramona flores (Jose) and Laura ein- wechter (Chris); four brothers, Peter Lopez (Kathleen), Mike Lopez, George Lopez (evy), and andy Lopez(Carmen Lou); two sisters, Carmen Vandewall (Steve),and isabel Quiles; his sis- ter-in-law, Doris; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on friday, July 6, 218 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Church of St. Nicholas in egg Harbor City. Burial followed at egg Harbor City Cemetery. arrangements made by the Carnesale funeral Home. Joseph Jacob Schneider Joseph Jacob Schneider died May 19, 2018 in Happy Valley, Ore., at the age of 93. He was born June 29, 1924 in egg Harbor City to rosa (atz) Schneider and Victor Schneider. Joe attended egg Harbor High School and graduated in 1942, when he joined the U.S. Navy; serving for six years. His tour of duty as a first Class Baker and Gunner, on an LSt, included the european, North african and asiatic-Pacific theaters; ending in tokyo Harbor for the signing of the Japanese instrument of Surrender. He ended his military career in astoria, Oregon. Joe married Nellie Butler, february 20, 1947. they were married for 57 years. Joe continued his career in baking, owning his own small bakery with his wife. He worked a short time for Brinks armored transport and retired from his longstanding, 20-year career with rol-away truck Mfg Co. inc. in 1975, at the age of 51. He was a member of resurrection Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the Lents Masonic Lodge. throughout his life, Joe enjoyed sports, playing baseball whenever possible, including a city league team in his hometown and playing basketball in a Navy league. He enjoyed his gardening along with a daily cigar and a one-mile walk. Joe was a very family-oriented man. He coached his sons’ little league baseball team and was their cub-scout leader. He was a wonderful mentor to his four children. Saturday evenings were spent playing pinochle with family and close friends. Joe is survived by his sons, Joe Schneider (Linda), Bremerton, Wash., rob Schneider (Debra), West Linn, Ore. and daughters, Nancy Popp (Gary), terrebonne, Ore. and Mary ann alexander (Gerhard), Canby, Ore.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his parents, wife, five brothers and great-grandchild. it was Joe’s wish that he be cremated. arrangements have been made with threadgill’s Me- morial Services. there will be a graveside service held at Willamette National Cemetery on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. a memorial service will be held immediately after the graveside service, at resurrection Lutheran Church, 1700 Ne 132nd ave Portland, Or 97230. in lieu of flowers; should friends and family desire, contributions may be sent to resurrection Lutheran Church, Portland, Oregon. Officer Kenneth O’Neil was the arresting officer, Slimm said. • On July 2 at 8:05 p.m., Kelvin Barreto, 20, of Hammonton was the subject of a “check the well- being” call in th e westbound lane of the White Horse Pike (route 30) at the intersection of Broadway, Slimm said. Barreto was found to be driving while under the influence (DWi) and was charged with DWi, unreg- istered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, possession of a controlled danger- ous substance in a motor vehicle, delaying traffic and fictitious plates, Slimm said. Officer Jason rigby was the ar- resting officer, Slimm said. • On July 4 at 3:03 p.m. Matthew Dawn M. Cappuccio Dawn M. Cappuccio, 50, of Hammonton died peacefully with her fam- ily by her side at home on Monday, July 2, 2018 after a courageous battle. Born in Hammonton she was raised in elwood and has lived in Ham- monton for 16 years. Dawn had worked for atlantic Sweetner in folsom as a customer service representative for many years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, David Wescoat. She is survived by her husband, Joseph f. Cappuccio ii and his son, Joseph f. Manuel Joseph Strano Manuel Joseph Strano, age 88, of Hammonton, died on Saturday, July 7, 2018 of heart failure at home. He was born on June 5, 1930 in Philadelphia, son of Salvatore and Mary Strano. Salvatore emigrated from italy in 1905. Manuel graduated from Camden Catholic High School and Drexel University. He is a Korean War veteran, serving in the Navy from 1950 to 1954 onboard USS VerMiL- iON (aKa-107). He retired from Public Service electric and Gas Com- pany as Supervisor of the Gas Department in audubon/Camden after 42 years in 1992. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing black jack and poker, going to the Hammonton Health & fitness gym, and was a champion in archery competition. He was a member of the Hammonton VfW Post #1026.
