was part of the 150th Engineer Company
that was deployed to Afghanistan for nearly
a year. Luisi talked about his experience
overseas.
“It was busy. They kept us busy, which
was good. It made the time go really fast.
Being back with the family is extraordinary.
It hasn’t even hit all of us yet. Besides that,
we had fun, we did our job and we came
home,” Luisi said.
Luisi said he plans on joining the police
force in Hammonton. He is aiming to complete all the necessary testing required, and
see what happens thereafter. He was
greeted home by his friends, family and
wife, Celina.
The barbecue picnic provided to the
troops and all that attended the welcoming
ceremony was made possible thanks to donations from several local businesses, individuals and groups including: Inferrera’s
Market, Sons of Italy, John DiDonato, WalMart, AtlantiCare, Frank Galloway, NJM,
Herr’s, Bagliani’s Market, ShopRite, Sam
Rodio Produce, Mt. Carmel Society and approximately 20 volunteers.
