Feast begins on July 11

HAMMONTON — Volunteers are preparing for the Feast of Our Lady of Mt . Carmel . With many counting down the days until the day of the feast , the Our Lady of Mt . Carmel Society has been updating people on Facebook about the event . The Feast this year will be the 147th annual , and is the longest running Italian festival in the country .
The festival begins Monday , July 11 with a carnival by Amusements of America , food stands , entertainment and more .

HAMMONTON — A youth member of Skate Hammonton spoke at the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on June 21 .
Cayden DeMarsico-Kienzle , of Horton St ., addressed the commission regarding progress that Skate Hammonton has been making towards holding skateboarding events .
“ We formed a non-profit that went into effect . It is called Skate Hammonton , A New Jersey Non- Profit Corporation . Following the non-profit , our checklist is as follows : obtaining insurance , securing a non-profit bank account and fundraising ,” DeMarsico-Kienzle said .
DeMarsico-Kienzle said that , thus far , the group has received one insurance quote “ that meets Hammonton ’ s requirements .”
