On June 8 at the Hammonton Board of Education meeting

HAMMONTON — The lottery for Preschool-3 students was held at the June 8 meeting of the Hammonton Board of Education .
Board of Education President Sam Mento III introduced Superintendent of Schools Robin Chieco , who had a bag filled with numbered balls representing all of the applicants to the program , and board member Ray Scipione , who was responsible for drawing and reading the numbers .

Arbor Day Poster winners honored

HAMMONTON — The winners of the First Annual Arbor Day Poster Contest were honored at the June 14 meeting of the Hammonton Environmental Commission .
Commission Chair Dan Bachalis welcomed the winners and their families to the meeting .
“ We want to thank you for not only submitting really interesting posters , but also for doing a really fantastic job ,” Bachalis said .
Bachalis said that there were more than 30 entries into the contest , and selecting winners was no easy task . Bachalis said that he and Commissioner Amy Menzel , along with a member of the Hammonton Arts Center , “ discussed and debated each poster several times .” “ In the end , it was unanimous as to what we came down to ,” Ba-
