OBITUARIES

Reverend Terry L . Martin

On the Feast of Pentecost , Sunday , June 5 , 2022 , The Reverend Terry L . Martin passed away suddenly and unexpectedly but very peacefully in his sleep at his home in Hammonton , N . J .
Terry spent his life in the service of his family and his church in the Episcopal priesthood . He graduated from the Anglo-Catholic Episcopal seminary of Nashota House in Wisconsin and was very proud to be “ a son of the House .” Consequently , his skill at conducting the Episcopal liturgy was absolute meticulous perfection , and proper , carefully executed liturgy was his passion . He was 68 years old .
He also loved books and would frequently say “ I ’ m a reader !” He exulted in a good story in a movie or a book . He relished writing things himself and telling his own stories . His latest hobby was gardening , and he turned his backyard into a mini farm of vegetables and flowers . He will be missed by his church , his children , grandchildren and former parishioners , but most of all by his closest companion and only confidante , his wife Cherie .
He leaves behind his wife , Cherie Calletta Martin ; daughters , Michelle Martin Juri ( Matthew ) and Chrissy Martin Barba ( Chris ); and sons , Paul and Kenneth Martin . Also surviving him are his grandchildren , Jordan ( Auri ), Kailey , Trevor , Tanner , Lily , James , Jackson and Aidan and one great-granddaughter , Brooklyn .
May he rest in peace and rise in eternal glory on this Day of Pentecost , the birthday of the church and Terry ’ s own birthday in his new life of the hereafter .
On Friday , June 24 , 2022 , a service of Christian Burial will be held at St . Peter ’ s Episcopal Church at 1 Hartford Rd , Medford , NJ 08055 . Visitation will be at 1 p . m .; Eucharist at 2 p . m . Interment to follow at Greenmount Cemetery , Hammonton N . J .

Joan Gladys Miller

Joan Gladys Miller ( Yannarella ), 88 , passed peacefully on Saturday , June 11 , 2022 at The Masonic Village in Burlington after a brief illness .
Born in Mt . Holly , N . J ., she is the daughter of the late John and Gladys Yannarella and the beloved wife of the late Gene S . Miller .
Joan was a 1952 graduate of Burlington City High School and was married in 1955 to the love of her life Gene . Joan worked at the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1954 to 1964 , then was employed as a secretary for the Edgewater Park School System for the next 30 years . She resided over the years in Delanco , Southampton , Tabernacle and Hammonton and the last seven months at The Masonic Village of Burlington . She enjoyed the shore , the casinos and most importantly her grandchildren . Joan loved to cook and talk on the phone to friends and relatives . She is predeceased by her brother , John D . Yannarella and his late wife Virginia . Joan was the beloved mother of Gene J . Miller and his wife Maria of Shamong , N . J . She is also survived by her grandchildren , Kristin Anne Girard ( Greg ), Gregory John Miller ( Jenny ) and Katie Marie Van Fossen ( Zach ). She is survived by her five great-grandchildren , Jonathan , Declan and Cole Girard and River and Ryder Miller . She also leaves many beloved cousins , relatives and friends-especially Lois her longest friend from kindergarten .
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday , June 17 , 20 22 from 9 a . m . to 11 a . m . at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home , 127 Medford-Mount Holly Road , Medford , N . J ., where a funeral service will begin at 11 a . m . Interment will follow in the Monument Cemetery in Beverly , N . J . News from the police department

POLICE , from Page 1 leased pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court ,” Friel said .
Officer John Amendolia was the investigating and arresting officer , Friel said .
In other police news , at 5:50 p . m . on June 7 , there was a report of a pickpocket on Front and 12th Streets , Friel said .
The victim stated that about 30 minutes prior , an unknown person took his wallet from his pocket , ran toward 12th Street , got on a bicycle and left the area , Friel said .
According to Friel , the suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s wearing a maroon in color shirt , Friel said .
Police located Juan Lopez- Perez , 52 , of Hammonton , who was confirmed by the victim as the accused , Friel said .
He was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters and charged with pickpocketing , Friel said .
Friel said the wallet was located on the sidewalk across from Stockton University ’ s Kramer Hall . The currency from the wallet was found on Lopez-Perez ’ s person , Friel said , adding that he was released pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court .

Also , Friel said police made driving while under the influence ( DWI ) arrests last week , including the following :
• On June 11 at 12:49 a . m . at the intersection of 14th Street and N . Egg Harbor Road , Officer Travis Hoffman observed a vehicle operating westbound in the opposite lane of travel , Friel said .
Kelvin Rivera , 26 , of Hammonton , was operating the vehicle , Friel said .
“ Mr . Rivera had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person ,” Friel said .
He was transported to police headquarters for processing , and charged with the following motor vehicle offenses : driving while under the influence , reckless driving , careless driving and failure to maintain lane of travel . He was released as per John ’ s Law pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Friel said Hoffman was the arresting and charging officer .
• On June 11 at 10:23 p . m . at the intersection of Weymouth and First Roads , police received a call of an erratic driver traveling northbound on Weymouth Road , Friel said .
Officer Dalton Verderame responded and observed the accused vehicle heading northbound failing to maintain a lane of travel , Friel said .
He conducted a motor vehicle stop and the operator of the vehicle , Tiesha Campbell , 34 , of Brooklyn , had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath and person , Friel said .
Campbell was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with the following motor vehicle violations : driving while under the influence , careless driving , reckless driving , failure to maintain lane of travel , cell phone in use while operating a motor vehicle and driver ’ s license required , Friel said .
She was released as per John ’ s Law pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Friel said Verderame was the arresting and charging officer .
• On June 12 at 7:45 a . m . on the 400 block of Oak Road , police received a check well-being of a male occupant slumped over the steering wheel , Friel said .
“ Cpl . Jay Pinto arrived on the scene and found a male subject in a blue Ford Expedition , with his foot on the brake pedal and the vehicle in drive ,” Friel said .
The subject was Oscar Rosasanaya , 46 , of Hammonton , Friel said .
The vehicle was secured and the subject was placed under arrest for
