“We are happy that we are able to provide
a safe place for the kids to play. We thought
everything went perfect. the weather was
beautiful and the fields held up great,” Betts
said.
Mayor Stephen DiDonato provided his reaction about the tuckahoe turf farms soccer tournaments during Memorial Day
Weekend, talking about the effect it had on
local businesses.
“i didn’t go down to the site, but i was at
Silver Coin [Diner] for a cup of coffee on
Saturday night and they were telling me how
great of a day they had, how spectacular it
was and how they knew Sunday was going
to be busy, but they weren’t sure about Monday. it was very positive for the business
community, i know Saturday [was]. it was a
big tournament,” DiDonato said.
