Gus Tzaferos of the Silver Coin Diner is remembered

TZAFEROS, from Page 1
in Hammonton. in 1980, he
opened Silver Coin Diner and
Pagus Sportswear. He opened the
Meadows Diner in Blackwood,
Pavilion Pizza in Newfield and
Gt fashions in Hammonton all in
1984. He owned the Ye Old Midway inn in Buena, and apollo Presentations, which brings Greek
Shows to atlantic City Casinos.
He also owned Passions florist in
Hammonton.
Silver Coin Diner, which rarely
missed a day of business since
tzaferos opened it, was closed the
day following his death in honor
of him. tzaferos could often be
seen at the first table to the left of
the front doors in the front of the
diner, in a seat nearest to the window looking out at the White
Horse Pike.
tzaferos’ favorite seat has been
removed from the front table.
there will not be a chair there for
the 40 days following his passing
to memorialize the man who
opened the diner, which has become a place of enjoyment for so
many people – bo F
