Menzel met with the Animal Clinic of Hammonton in regards to the committee gardening their parking lot . For Garden Talks , the committee reached out to Rutgers University Master Gardener Program Coordinator Belinda Chester in regards to having monthly talks scheduled for spring and summer . Garden Talks is a workshop that provides basics for new gardeners with garden experts in partnership with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County ( RCEAC ), according to the Green Committee ’ s website . On June 23 , the Atlantic County Utilities Authority ( ACUA ) and RCEAC garden tour will stop at Hammonton at 5:30 p . m as part of their tour with various community gardens in the western part of Atlantic County . To conclude the garden section of the meeting , the committee discussed potential field trips to participate in , with the options being the Triple Oaks Nursery and Herb Garden in Franklinville , the ACUA Facility in Egg Harbor Twp ., the Still Room at Pitch Pines in Mays Landing and the Espoma Fertilizer Plant in

Transitioning to the Green Committee meeting , the committee missed their first review window for their Sustainable Jersey recertification as the submission for their second review is due on May 12 . The Sustainable Jersey Summit will take place on May 5 at the Bell Works in Holmdel , N . J ., which will be attended by member Dudley Prince .
For the Seed Library , the inventory has been updated but the committee is looking for volunteers to help develop the website . Anyone that is interested in volunteering can reach out to Menzel at hammontongreencommittee @ gma il . com .
The committee held their Adopted Road Cleanup on April 8 . Future road cleanups are scheduled for June 4 and 10 . On May 13 , the committee ’ s Downtown Planting and Cleanup will be held at 9 a . m . at the Historic Train Station on Egg Harbor Road .
The committee is looking to work with Hammonton High School ( HHS ) as the HHS ’ s School Library Specialist Mary Beth Sieminski reached out in regards to the school ’ s rain garden . The school is looking for guidance on taking care of the rain garden and have reached out to the committee for that matter . For the Sustainable
Jersey Hub , their event on June 7 will be at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center and will focus on the topic of sustainable landscaping .
The Green Market returns on June 15 on Horton Street and will run on every Third Thursday from June through September . The committee received their donation from AtlantiCare and their logo is finalized . For the SNAP Benefits workshop planned for municipalities and green committees , member Mica McCullough revealed that a meeting is on May 2 . McCullough noted that it will take several months for vendors to get approved to accept SNAP Benefits and possibly won ’ t be approved for this year .

It ’ s not necessarily information that people will use this year but I wanted to , at the very least , get the information out there , start those
