HAMMONTON—The Hammonton Environmental Commission held its regular meeting on
April 9. With Chairman Robert
Reitmeyer absent from the meeting, Vice-Chairperson Terri
Caruso-Cafiso assumed the role.
On the agenda, the commission
discussed the final steps for the
2013 ANJEC [Association of New
Jersey of Environmental Commissions] Open Space Grant with the
four interpretive trail map signs
and kiosk installation along the
Smith Tract at the Hammonton
Lake Park.

schools later this month.
Before the regular portion of the
agenda commenced, residents of a
home on Bellevue Avenue addressed the commission about a
tree they were seeking to be removed. John Bakuckas of 526
Bellevue Ave. said he brought the
application to town hall recently,
but still wanted to present it to the
Environmental Commission immediately due to the close proximity to the front of his home, and
some damage it has caused already.
“We have a tree that is located
about 10 feet from my house, in
front of the porch. The tree is
causing some severe damage. The
steps are lifting up. We have some
