“ So , the signs could read ‘ bus parking only from 2 p . m . to 4 p . m .’, or maybe we could cover them at night , and put up some supplemental signs with hours ?” Ordille said to the other nine members in the room .

preliminary , ball park figure on the costs of providing emergency first aid equipment for the sports complexes in Hammonton . ice packs , complete first aid kits and even defibrillators were mentioned .

“ it ’ s absolutely and horrendously woeful , the lack of kits and stuff like defibrillators . at my advanced age , if i go down , i want to be sure there ’ s something , you know , if i ’ m walking my dog or something ... i think the one at the Canoe Club is the only one in town ,” Borda said .

“ i ’ ve seen kids get hit , twist ankles , etc ., and somebody always has to run to the stands for a bag of ice . We need to be more professional , liability wise and safety wise , and these things should be available at all the fields . it would be worth a few bucks , i think , even if it helps just one kid . that ’ s what we ’ re here for . i ’ d really like to see a defibrillator at Boyer . that ’ s a busy place , with parents and grandparents ,” Borda said .

Commission Co-Chairman Lou Capuccio suggested looking into possibly seeking a donation from atlantiCare for the first aid funds .

Barberio reported that town council officially approved the sign for the sports complex at Boyer field to read “ Hammonton recreational Complex .” the sign has been ordered and should be up by the grand opening of the dog park on april 1 .
