HAMMONTON—The Miss America
2015 Competition will be held in Atlantic
City on Sunday, September 14 and the
“Show Me Your Shoes” Parade will be on
Saturday, September 13. Owner of Dance
Magic on the White Horse Pike (Route 30),
Dawn Baldwin, is planning on having her
dance studio team attend the parade. Baldwin and the Dance Magic team were at the
parade on the Atlantic City Boardwalk last
year as well.
Under the direction of Baldwin, it has been
an event the dance team has had the privilege
of partaking in on several occasions.
“We did it last year, and we had done it for
three of four years prior when it came to Atlantic City before it went back to Las Vegas.
We are planning on going back again this
year,” Baldwin said.
Last year’s parade experience was fun for
the group, but Baldwin said this year will
give them an opportunity to showcase their
talents, while performing as an individual
group.
“It is very exciting for myself and for the
girls. Last year they did more of an entire
group dance performance for the kids at the
parade. It wasn’t an individual group dance
performance. That was fun. The kids got to
meet a lot of new people all over the area,
but this year we are going to go in on our
own and go as Dance Magic. It will
give us a little bit of exposure and

HAMMONTON—At 8:30 p.m.
on March 1, Javante Jean, 18, of
Pemberton was arrested on the corner of 12th and Washington Streets
for disorderly conduct, Hammonton
Police Captain Nick Salvatore said.
“He is charged with disorderly
conduct and possession and consuming alcohol underage. He was
also found to have a warrant from
Mt. Holly in the amount of $340,”
Salvatore said.
Salvatore said Officer Kevin
Sloan was the arresting officer.
Jean was released on his own recognizance, Salvatore said.

Atlantic County Public Information Officer Linda Gilmore said Jacobs has been an employee of the
Atlantic County Department of Public Works since August 2004.
According to Gilmore, Jacobs has
been suspended without pay effective February 28, “pending investigation.”
According to the complaint-warrant, Jacobs was driving a 1999
white Mercury Mountaineer and offered $100 “for a sexual experience
inside his car” asking “if he could
fondle his penis” and “make it feel
good.”
Bail was set for Jacobs at 10 percent of $50,000 cash, according to
the complaint-warrant from the

said.
Dance Magic has already started to plan
for the “Show Me Your Shoes” Parade on
September 13. They are excited about the
chance to perform on their own, and are hoping to go to the Miss America Pageant Contest on September 14.
“We are going to try to go to the pageant
as well and make it a big Miss America
weekend for the girls and myself,” Baldwin
said.
Baldwin would like to work with the town
and have representatives support Dance
Magic as they perform in the parade.
“We would like to get one of the military
veteran groups to come and we tried to do
that last year, but because we didn’t go on
our own we weren’t able to do that. I would
love to do that with one of the military
groups or Kiwanis, a civic group, where they
are a color guard for us…If some civic organization would like to do that and have
some type of representation with us or people from the downtown or the band, or coordinate something with the mayor and some
council members and have a Hammonton
contingent there, and not just us. I would like
the town’s support, and I think it would be a
lot of fun,” Baldwin said.
During the month of September, the town
is busy with town-wide events, particularly
Green Weekend festivities that take place
during the weekend of September 13-14. The
traditional Third Thursday “Boardwalk Em-
pire” theme event in the downtown area will
be on September 18 after the Miss America
