PLANNING, from Page 1
“In May of last year, 2015, and
then following up in November,
we received notice from the
county planning board that they
were requesting more information
from our engineer, Mr. Scheidegg
of Schaeffer Nasser & Scheidegg.
The county requested more information with regards to the sub-di-
vision because First Road is a
county road, and with the need for
the town sewer and pipe installation, they wanted specifics on
measurements and that sort of
thing. When they requested more
information in May, to the best of
my knowledge, it was provided.
Then they requested more information in November, which to
date, Mr. Scheidegg has provided,

so now we’re still waiting on the
county for their final approval.
We’ve done everything to the best
our ability at this point to complete the process and move the
process along, we just keep hitting
these little road blocks where
they’re requesting more information … It’s really just a matter that
we need more time to take up their
issues,” Byrnes-Frankle said.

requesting. She was hoping to receive somewhere “around a year,”
which she considered more than
generous if the board were to
allow.
“I’m hoping that the issues will
be resolved sooner than that. I’d
hate to be before you again in a
year and have to ask for another
year, I can’t say for sure. I don’t
think we envisioned having the
issue in the first place, so I think a
year would probably be safe as a
good middle ground,” ByrnesFrankle said.
Planning board solicitor James
Schroeder informed the board that
they are allowed to grant extensions up to one year.
“It’s reasonable under the law to
grant that extension,” Schroeder
said.
Prior to a board vote, Dr.
Michael Hozik defended the request for extension.
“It sounds like the county is
moving slowly. I don’t think they
should be penalized for the county
moving slowly,” Hozik said.
The board unanimously approved the request for extension.
