• On February 5 at 12:08 p.m.,
on the prime block of Columbia
Road, a resident reported that her
stereo system was stolen from her
residence, Friel said.
Friel said she believed that be-
tween January 23 and January 30,
someone stole the stereo system.
Officer William Kurz was the
investigating officer, Friel said.
• On February 5 at 2:39 p.m. on

Horse Pike, a subject came into

7, trustees and members of the
Greater Hammonton Chamber of
Commerce received a hard-hitting
lesson on how to prepare for and
counter active shooter events dur-
ing a presentation from guest
speaker John D. Hunt, corporate di-
rector of security and emergency
management for AtlantiCare.

The Matro Family was honored at the St. Joseph High School Red and White Celebration on February 9 at Lucien’s
Manor in Berlin. Many members of the Matro family attended St. Joe High School and have been active alumni. They
were given the service award. The other honorees were: Dan Scocca (Posthumously), Dr.Mario Arena, James McGeary,

day, February 7, Historical Society
of Hammonton (HSH) member
Bill Parkhurst presented on the rich
history of the Loveland family; a
well-known, prosperous family
who owned property on the Ham-
monton Lake.
Parkhurst has a special connec-
tion to the Loveland family, as he
and his wife Catherine, also a
member of HSH, have owned one
of the Lovelands’ homes since
1969.
