Since the cans got implemented, it has been a tremendous plus for the town, on both our side and on aCUa recycling … One of the new trucks was more because it has the front end lift to go around to the condos and apartments. We’ve been delivering some of the new containers, which is another upgrade that’s being done around the town. the containers hadn’t been updated for many years, and we’re doing that as well,” Councilman Sam rodio said. One of the new trucks will feature a Curroto-Can. according to their website, the Curroto-Can is a device that has the fastest loading time of any product on the market and delivers a 25 to 30 percent increase in productivity over other side loaders. Hammonton Public Works Department Head Scott rivera said he is excited about what the new trucks mean to the town and its continued efforts to make things easier for the residents. “When the trucks are out on the road and we’re serving the residents, we often have to do Bandaid and duct tape type repairs. if a truck is off the road for more than a day or so, it impacts the residents too much and trash gets backed up. Once these two trucks are up on the road and going, we can take the one truck off the road and start making repairs to it, running a system like we should be … We now have a couple different trucks we can rotate for maintenance and wear-and-tear. it makes everything a lot easier for us to pick up,” rivera said.
