AD Another handy Adobe app is InDesign, which allows you to create magazines (such as this one). InDesign is quite simple to use, but there are multiple tips you could follow to become a magazine expert. • Add depth to your cover: If there is a certain element of your cover picture that definiely stands out, be sure to crop it out and add it as a new layer in front of the title text. • Use guides and rulers to create your layout: If you want all of your magazine’s elements to be well alligned, create a grid using rulers and guides. This will allow you to define where each element will be placed, making sure it all looks neat. • Use master pages: Copy pasting an element such as the page number to each individual page can be tedious, so you should use master slides, which allow you to insert elements to every single page that uses that master. • Be congruent with your colors: One thing that annoys readers about magazines is that they have weird color combinations, so try to identify a specific palette that you will be using for the whole magazine (I only used 5 or 6 colors throughout this magazine). • Use templates: Unless you are a good designer who wants to challenge themselves, you can use an InDesign template for your magazine when you create a new document.
