ARTS | D ICK I N STIT U T E Rachel Maclean: Feed Me SAT 13 MAY - SAT 26 AUG MAIN GALLERY The Main Gallery at the Dick Institute plays host to Feed Me, a remarkable film work by one of the most exciting young artists to emerge in Scotland over the last few years. Selected to represent Scotland in the 2017 Venice Biennale, Rachel Maclean graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2009, and has since become known for her fantastical films, which often use satire to comment on a broad range of contemporary issues. Made with cinematic production values and shown within an immersive cinematic environment, the nightmarish, candy- coloured world created by Maclean in Feed Me takes viewers on a roller-coaster ride through the vices of contemporary culture. On loan from the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, this work was commissioned by Film and Video Umbrella and Hayward Touring for British Art Show 8.
