First Nations stewardship
A new activity area for the LDC project is Traditional Owner Community Stewardship and Empowerment . The aim is to support Traditional Owner groups to improve access to Country and to deliver natural resource management outcomes in the BBB . NQ Dry Tropics will appoint an On Country Project Officer to LDC with a goal to increase Traditional Owner involvement in land management and monitoring activities .
Other Land Managers and Policy Engagement
Two important tenets
Other Land Managers
LDC continues to encourage non-graziers who manage , or use land , in the Bowen , Broken , Bogie ( BBB ) catchment to get involved with the project so it can truly be a whole-ofcatchment effort .
Policy Engagement
Signs explaining Birriah connection to Country have been erected in Collinsville and Scottville .
Providing clarity around Queensland ’ s Vegetation Management laws continues to be a focus of the Policy Engagement activity area in 2024 .
