support groups. She holds mem-
berships through the Association of
Professional Chaplains (APC), the
Association of Death Education &
Counseling (ADEC), the Associa-
tion of Clinical Pastoral Care Edu-
cation (ACPE), and as Ambassador
for the American Heart Association
diversity leadership board.
Pastor Betty Howard is guided by
the foundational scripture of Phi-
lippians -1:6 - Being confident of
this one thing, that He which began
a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ. It’s His
work, He started it, He will finish it.
Widowed and born in Homestead,
Fl, Pastor Howard is a graduate
of Nova Southeastern University.
She has a Master’s Degree and is li-
censed and ordained to Word and
Sacrament by the Evangelical Cov-
enant Church. Pastor Betty How-
ard retired after 42 years of dedica-
tion and commitment to Miami
Dade County Public Schools.
Rev. Betty Howard is a pastor,
teacher, preacher, prayer warrior,
servant, volunteer at St. Anne’s
Nursing Home, and Co-Pastor of
Grace Covenant Ministries. She
is the mother of four children, 24
grandchildren, 28 great-grandchil-
dren, and 2 great-great grandchil-
dren. God has blessed her beyond
measure in allowing generations of
offspring to benefit from her wis-
dom and guidance. She is well posi-
tioned and ready as always to allow
God to use her as she continues to
do His work and His will.
The Women’s Ministry is headed
by President Cathy Berry and Vice
President Annie Latham. Mem-
bers include: Darlene Washington,
Diane Barnes, Joyce Hood, Elaine
Woodberry, Sharon Butler, Lisa
Greene, Marian Clay, Gwendolyn
Thomas, Carmelia Heard, Betty
Bennett, Dr. Roselyn Adams, Mel-
zina Burths, Pamela Alexander,
Jackie Waters, Melody Stover, Mar-
jorie Edwards, and Mother Nettie
Monds. Annie Latham serves as
Event Coordinaror with Cathy Ber-
ry as Co-Chair. The conference is
scheduled for Sunday, October 27,
2019 at 4p.m. Covenant is blessed
under the leadership of Rev. Dr.
Curtis T. Thomas with First Lady
Gwendolyn Thomas at his side. All
