“Together We Rise” The Women’s Ministry at Covenant Missionary Baptist Church Presents Annual Women’s Conference The church and ministry are particularly excited about the dynamic participants that are slated to participate. Speakers to bless this year’s conference include Shirley J. Ferguson, MPA who is well known and highly regarded as a caring individual who readily volunteers where her services are needed to benefit those placed in her path. Mrs.Ferguson has designed and presented Business Etiquette Training Seminars for Professionals in the workplace and private business owners; developed and sponsored community health care expos; coordinated food drives for under-served families; developed “Bear Hugs” gift bags for African American seniors residing in nursing facilities; served as a breast cancer supporter for survivors and helped raise $35,000 for City of Hope Breast Cancer Research Foundation. With the theme “Together We Rise” they are planning a wonderful christian and communi- ty experience. The Women’s Ministry is trusting God for the overall empowering experience as they promote and support caring for the well-being of others, health awareness, spiritual motivation and encouraging com- munity involvement. Rev. Dr. Shirley L. Brown, M. Div., D. Min. is founder and President of her own non-profit ‘Center For Faith & Health Global Network, Inc. with a mission to trans- form the physical, emotional and spiritual health of communities of color. She is an ordained Minister of the Gospel with over 30 years of experience in ministry serving disenfranchised communities and congrega- tions of all faiths Over the years she served as: Spiri- tual Care Counselor for Hospice Care of Southeast Fl as the Sr. Congregational Health Chaplain & Pastoral Care Educator for Baptist Health South Florida and she currently serves as Clinical Chaplain for Jackson Health South Medical Center. She has hosted numer- ous seminars and trained over 2,700 volunteers to sup-
