DIMOKRATIAS SQUARE - CENTRAL SQUARE
The central square of the city, is by itself a significant monument of Xanthi since
during the last years some of its former glory started to appear once again. It was
first designed in 1870 and ever since then, its design has been altered with numer-
ous interventions, the highlight of which has been the construction towards the
end of the 1880s of the great clock of the city.
