During my recent trip to Trikala, I did not miss the opportunity
to visit it after its completion, although I learned that there are
constant additions and activities on the site.
The exhibition is hosted on the upper floor of the building
while the objects displayed are not too many. However, a very
detailed and thoughtful work has been done by the people of
the Municipality, with the cooperation of the composer’s fami-
ly that offered his belongings, and the purpose has been served
... The ones that are exhibited and all the written information
are sufficient and clear enough to take you on a nostalgic
journey back in time, from the late 1930s to the early 1980s
(even if you weren’t born back then), reliving the evenings at
the legendary music stage “Harama” of Kesariani, during an era
which imprinted
Entering the first chamber, you will see in the foreground
his bouzouki, while all around the walls posters are hung in
chronological order that recount the life and work of the music
composer from his birth to his death on the day of his birthday
January 18, in 1984.
In the other 2 halls you will see his records, manuscripts, doz-
ens of newspaper and magazine scraps of the time telling his
story, his life, his collaborations with important names of the
Greek music scene, articles with his colleagues’ dithyrambic
comments and illustrating the great love of the people for him
and all these accompanied by his songs which are sounded
discreetly in the room. A trip to the recent cultural history of
Greece, a trip to a great musical heritage... Don’t miss it!
Note:
There is a complete play list
from where you can choose
whichever song you’d like to
hear! Leaving the museum you
will have a nostalgic feeling,
since his life and work are
presented in a way that gives
the visitor a complete picture
and in-depth knowledge,
offering a true experience both
for Tsitsanis himself and his
generation, as well as the era
and its characteristics.
