in a traditional, renovated building in the heart of the
old settlement of Paroikia. It is worth visiting for the rich
archival material on the island’s culture and history.

MARPISSA FOLKLORE MUSEUM
Η ιδέα για το Λαογραφικό Μουσείο ξεκίνησε το 1997
από το Σύλλογο Γυναικών Μάρπησσας, ώστε να φτια-
χτεί ένας χώρος μέσα στον οποίο ο επισκέπτης μπορεί
να γνωρίσει την παραδοσιακή ζωή της Πάρου, να
θαυμάσει παλιά έπιπλα, αργαλειούς, σκεύη και διάφορα
άλλα παραδοσιακά αντικείµενα από την παλιά ζωή

Folklore Museum started from the Marpissa Association
of Women, in order to create a space, where the visitor
can meet the Paros traditional life, admire old furniture,
looms, cookware and many other traditional items
from the island’s old life.( June - Oct.: Open daily, Oct. -
May: Every Sunday).

MUSEUM OF THE AEGEAN FOLK CULTURE
Βρίσκεται στις εγκαταστάσεις του ξενοδοχείου Lefkes
Village και ιδρύθηκε από τον επιχειρηµατία-συγγραφέα
Γιώργο Πίττα. Εκεί βρίσκουμε εκθέµατα της καθηµερινής
ζωής των ανθρώπων της Πάρου αλλά και του Αι-
γαίου και αντικείµενα των παλαιών παραδοσιακών
επαγγελµάτων. Τα εκθέματα χωρίζονται σε 3 θεματικές
ενότητες, την Ποιητική της γης, την Ποιητική της μαστο-
ριάς και την Ποιητική της ζωής. (www.lefkesvillage.
com) Housed in the facilities of Lefkes Village Hotel,
the Museum was found by founded by the businessman
– writer Giorgos Pittas. There you can admire exhibits
of the everyday life of the people of Paros, as well as of
other Aegean islands, as well as items of old traditional
professions. The exhibits are divided into 3 thematic
units, the Poetic of Earth, the Poetic of Craftsmanship
and the Poetic of Life.
