ΛΙΜΝΟΘΆΛΑΣΣΑ ΒΕΡΒΕΡΌΝΤΑ
Απάνεμα νερά, ένα καταπράσινο
περιβάλλον και το γραφικό ξωκλήσι της
Παναγίτσας στην άκρη της παραλίας,
συνθέτουν το υπέροχο τοπίο της
Λιμνοθάλασσας Βερβερόντας που
βρίσκεται κοντά στο Πόρτο Χέλι. Η
ονομασία της οφείλεται στον θρύλο των
Βερβερίνων πειρατών, που βρήκαν εδώ
καταφύγιο. Οι ιαματικές και θεραπευτικές
ιδιότητες των υδάτων τη συμπεριέλαβαν
στο ευρωπαϊκό δίκτυο Corine Biotopes, ως
έναν βιότοπο σπουδαίου φυσικού πλούτου
με σπάνια αποδημητικά πτηνά. Η τοποθεσία
προσφέρεται για κολύμπι, θαλάσσια σπορ
και καταδύσεις, ενώ αποτελεί επιπλέον
ιδανικό σημείο για ψάρεμα. Εδώ λειτουργεί
ανελλιπώς από το 1976 η Ververoda Water
ski Center με τους Δημήτρη Κουρούνη
και Δημήτρη Φραντζή στο τιμόνι,
εξυπηρετώντας σκιέρ όλων των επιπέδων.
VERVERONDA LAGOON
Suntrap water, a lush lanscape and
the picturesque chapel of Panagitsa
at the edge of the beach create the
magnificent setting of Ververonda
Lagoon, within short distance from
Porto Heli. It was named after the
legend of the Barbarian pirates who
found shelter in the area. The healing
and toothing properties of the waters
were the reason why the Lagoon
was included in the European Corine
Biotopes Network, as a natural reserve
of rich nature with rare migrating birds.
The location is ideal for swimming,
water sports and diving, while it is
also the perfect spot for fishing. The
Ververonda Water Ski Center operates
continuously since 1976, with Dimitris
Kourounis and Dimitris Frantzis in the
saddle, serving servers of all levels.
