Why doing so well?

Finland has more time to relax and has more freedom. The approach for why Finland may be doing so well is because of ignoring the standardized testing and taking a more focused approach on education, reported by Critical Issues in Education.

When comparing Finland to the United States taking a more relaxed and investing more time for teachers and helping them to make a more fun environment would improve test scores and help the education system.

The Challenges of Keeping on top

In recent years, Finland has declined in the PISA scores or performance scores Pasi Sahlberg author best-selling What can the World Learn About Educational Change in Finland. Finland has been upheld the top for many years so having the position as a global educational leader may have disturbed Finland’s way of improving and renewal according to Sahlberg. Although Finland’s test scores have gone down, this doesn’t compare the decrease to The United States.

America may be wanting to follow Finland’s ways when talking about the education system. Taking away from Finland’s way for the education system will help us see new ways and ideas from the world and help us to benefit the education system.
