Lets compare

The United States clearly has school shootings, but is there a reason why? That’s hard to answer because not one thing tells us why it happens. But the United States has 393,300,000 guns, and the population of the United States is 329,064,917. We have more guns than people, and the world views America as ignorant because of this.

~Mexico has had 8 school shootings and 16,800,000 guns.

~South Africa has had 6 school shootings and 5,400,000 guns.

~India has had 5 school shootings and 71,100,000 guns.

Clearly, the amount of guns countries have access to makes a difference. The US has the most school shootings by far and the greatest number of guns.

Several countries haven’t had any school shootings reported. For example, Hungary, Australia, Switzerland, etc. Australia is very strict about their gun laws and bought back almost 620,000 weapons after a mass shooting. Could we do the same?

If we assume that the more guns a country has the more school shootings there will be, the information backs this up. The graph above does not contain these countries because they don’t have enough guns to be included.

To conclude, clearly the U.S. has a major gun and school shooting problem. We could learn from other countries to help ours solve the epidemic of school shootings.
