I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. Had a pioneering spirit from an early age. Always adventurous At the age of 14 my Father asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. I said I wanted to learn typing Ad shorthand so that I could become the Secretary to a Boss and travel the world. My Mother gave me A birthday present of a trip overseas when I was around 18. I did qualify as a Shorthand Typist worked As a temp Secretary. By God’s Grace and Favour I ended up being the Boss, not having to work for one And having a Secretary rather than permanently being one. I had the opportunity of sharing challenging story at Queensland Parliament House I’m very grateful for the gifts that I’ve been given because I’ve had a lot of meaningful work. However, Even with the less meaningful work I had a attitude of where I could turn the lemons into lemonade. My experiences in life have challenged and grown me. My career path has been varied and interesting I worked in London as a secretary for Community Relations, a Secretary and Assistant to the Manufacturing And Textile Industry, Secretary and then promoted to the Public Relations Manager for a Fashion Company Where we opened 118 outlets in 18 months, my role was to meet the press, show them the latest fashion Range and also wine and dine them to promote the fashion in their magazines and newspapers. I gained the reputation of trust, because I would be very honest with the Editors, because I knew their Taste, so I would only ask them to meet with me if I felt that the fashion was related to the type of media. I worked for a middle class “country style” fashion company and for the first time the press received A press kit of some models who were not peachy skinned. I worked with a large famous advertising Agency and we were very adventurous in our public relations and marketing. I was based in London, I got to travel to Germany, Holland and Denmark to meet with Fashion Store Managers and buyers
