not ok, is to stay stuck there! You will have many happy moments such as when your child is doing well in school, they tell you they love you, you see them growing older, making positive decisions, and when they acknowledge that if it weren't for your mom or dad, they would not be where they are today! And for those moments, we live past being reminded that we are single parents. We push forward knowing that a single parent does their best regardless of what good or bad days they are having. A parent will advocate for their child or children when nobody else will, and they will put their children's needs before their own. Understand this; children won't stay little forever!!! A single parent values their time with their children because they understand that time doesn't stand still even when they may feel like giving up. Those little boys and girls who we at times wish to grow up and leave the home will be deeply missed when they do. Don't rush the process as it goes by too quickly! Enjoy every moment! Children are a gift from God, and we are given a chance at life to do better and sacrifice who we are for them! That time and dedication will give our children their way in life! Smile while you see your children grow even amid some sad moments.
What you do for your children TODAY will be a reflection of what happens in their lives tomorrow! Every effort, direction, attention, an ounce of love, positive discipline, conversation, modeling, leading, communication, and overall ability to be in your children's lives unconditionally, will make the utmost difference in who they become. Provide them with a world in which they will be able to place a seed of hope and change as you have done for them. Be their light of hope so they can live the normal life that was intended to be lived when they were created.
Be all that you were intended to be when you had children… The best parent you can be! You owe it to your children to parent even with all the responsibilities that come with it! It will make for a better YOU tomorrow and remind all of how resilient you are. You will be able to handle anything that comes your way because you provided your children with the best version of you! You can change history and rewrite the books of parenting, but it starts from you. That choice is yours! You can do it! You were made to do it! One day at a time! There is only one YOU!
