Here is a blend that works well for your homemade hand sanitizer.
Side note: I am French and I learned cooking as soon as I could walk, with my cordon bleu mother. She never measured anything, consequently I never do either, so I hesitate to give you measurements. I suggest you trust your intuition, creativity and personal taste.
Hand sanitizer recipe
Mix the following ingredients and pour in a glass spray bottle:
1 cup Aloe Vera gel
1 or 2 tablespoons Witch Hazel
30 drops of tea tree essential oil (Tea tree comes from the Australian Melaleuca tree)
5 + drops other essential oils such as peppermint, lavender, cinnamon, clove, lemon, rosemary, eucalyptus
And now, here is the chocolate smoothie recipe I promised (no measurements).
All ingredients are organic and raw. This is a scrumptious powerhouse of antioxidants and beneficial nutrients.
Raw cacao powder
Raw nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, pistachios, cashews, pecans) I mix and alternate
Turmeric powder
A piece of fresh ginger root (3/4”) (or powdered ginger, but they taste differently)
1 pitted date as a sweetner
Raw virgin coconut oil (I don’t add it every day, but you can)
A few black peppercorns
A dash of cayenne pepper (to benefit the heart) and a pinch of Himalayan salt (for the minerals)
Occasionally I add cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon only. That is the cinnamon from Sri Lanka. It is more expensive than Cassia cinnamon, which is the kind sold in supermarkets. Cassia cinnamon contains high doses of coumarin, which can damage kidneys, liver and lungs and even cause impaired cognitive development, neurological problems and cancer if used in large quantities (is used in blood thinner medications).
And sometimes I add hemp seeds (often called hemp hearts) and flaxseeds for proteins rich in healthy fats, minerals and vitamins, and medicinal mushrooms in powder form.
