Travel to Turkey is on the up in 2018
Turkey is bouncing back. Total visitor numbers to the country
are projected to soar in 2018. According to ABTA’s latest Travel
Trends Report 2018, the number of holidaymakers coming to
Turkey from the UK alone is expected to increase by 69% this
year. Tourism businesses are preparing for a comeback season
like never before. Beds and flight seats are in high demand with
more visitors returning to Turkey to experience its mythical
history, hospitable culture, glistening beaches and secluded
coves, rolling mountains, world class shopping and taste bud
tantalizing cuisine. Located on a remote private beach in the
southwest, the Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Spa has
reported a 195% increase in bookings for 2018, compared to
this time last year, proving once again that Turkey is back on
the holiday map.
Just two years ago, Turkey was the sixth most-visited country
in the world, ahead of the UK, attracting close to 42 million
foreign visitors. After a challenging period, ABTA predicts
that Turkey is set to be a top destination again with many
holidaymakers choosing the destination due to its great value
and price as well as its warm hospitality and guaranteed
sunshine in the summer months. A number of UK based tour
operators are adding weekly flights to Turkish destinations
such as Dalaman for the 2018 summer season, including new
regional routes from Edinburgh and Manchester.
Tunç Batum, General Manager of the Hilton Dalaman
Sarigerme Resort & Spa, comments:
“We are thrilled to report increased bookings to the hotel in
2018. The location of the Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme is the
perfect base to explore the region of Dalaman and offers so
many activities for families, couples and friends to enjoy, such
as the sweeping coastline with a limitless choice of water sports,
bustling markets, ancient artefacts to investigate, diverse bird
and wildlife watching, as well as outdoor adventures such as
rock climbing and paragliding.
