TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER
INTERVIEW
Its about 9:30pm on quite a cold wet
night in Glasgow, hardly a
glamorous location to be
interviewing a legendary dance diva,
but yet that is what happened.
Armed with a cup of hot camomile
tea and some home made carrot cake
(thanks Nigella dear) I pick up the
phone and rather nervously
await the one the only Martha
Wash to grace me with her
husky tones, and after a
mouthful of that carrot
cake I hear, “Hello is
that George?” I
genuinely had to
dispose of the carrot
cake into a thankfully
nearby piece of kitchen
paper before I could
respond, and here is
what happened.
The New Album
I have been listening to your new
album “Something Good” for the past
few days and it really is quite a good
album.
Thank you honey, I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
It’s quite a positive album isn't it, it’s quite
empowering and uplifting and just very
feel good.
Yeah I think so, and you know I’ve had such a
wonderful response from everyone who has heard
it, my core fan base know I just don’t do the dance
songs and they have embraced it. It has a few
different influences on there, there's a little bit of
Gospel and Country touches to some of the songs,
but yes I’m very happy that people have
responded to it positively.
