intensity in her training made all the difference to her overall performance and that is a behavioral change that stands out. Well done for stepping up! Most Improved Athlete: Tim Winter Tim was new to the BGGA program and formal gym training, but he stood out from the very beginning. The attitude and level of effort put forth even at our initial testing sessions was noted and for this reason alone Tim was placed in our more advanced training group. He continued to bring the same intensity and discipline to his practice throughout the year easily keeping pace with his peers. An impressive and consistent effort this year – well done! Most Improved Player: Yoko Tai Yoko had two sub par rounds, came in 2nd at Faldo Series U.S. Grand Final, won the IJGT Junior at Falcons Fire, won AJGA Windham Mountain Resort Junior All Star, finished 16th out of 118 at Junior Worlds and is ranked 32 on Junior Golf Scoreboard. Yoko is a 3rd year student at BGGA and a wonderful young lady. We are excited to see what she does in golf and life. Most Improved Player: Sam Duan Sam was a transfer student this year. He is very committed to his golf, and has worked consistently to improve. Sam came in 6th at IJGT Black Bear, 6th at IJGT Orange Lake, and shot an even par 72 at AJGA Visit Tallahassee Preview. But even more exciting is he came down 9 shots on his scoring average. The Diligence Award recognizes that student golfer who is an all-round achiever in all aspects of golf and athletic development and has worked hard in all areas. The recipients have shown tremendous grit and perseverance throughout the year and are a testament to diligence and commitment. Diligence Award: Maria Fedorowycz Maria is dedicated, gives 100% effort and is fun to be around. She has blossomed this year with some impressive rounds of golf and impressive putting on Saturday Roll-Up. Diligence Award: John Daly Jr. 14 THE GATE | JUNE 2019 John has been at BGGA for two years and has matured and developed so much on the course, in the classroom and as a person. He tries his best in everything that he does and has demonstrated his commitment to his grades and his golf with hard work. He is returning to BGGA as a sophomore, and we are so excited to watch all the great things he will achieve as a junior and as a collegiate player. The Player of the Year is based on golf performance, stats and exemplary behavior both on and off the golf course. Player of the Year: Anna Chen Anna has achieved a lot this year! She had four sub-par rounds, came in 5th at Dustin Johnson, 12th at AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions, 4th at Golfweek Junior Invitational, 2nd at Elite Series at Orange Lake and was the Junior PGA Championship Section Qualifier Champ (66-68). A 4th year BGGA student, Anna ranks 29 on Junior Golf Scoreboard. Player of the Year: Hiroshi Tai Hiroshi has had nine rounds under par this year. He won an AJGA, finished 13th in the Bobby Chapman and the AJGA Polo. He is ranked an impressive 15 on Junior Golf Scoreboard. Hiroshi is a 3rd year student from Singapore. ROLL-UP PUTTING CONTEST SPRING SEMESTER Congratulations to Christian Wentzel and Sophia Tejeda for winning the Spring Roll-Up AND the Race to Scotland! Well done and a testimony to your weekend consistency and discipline! In terms of best overall putting, John Daly Jr. has the best 5 scores, averaging -6. So well done to LJ as well!
