STUDENT ACCOLADES
WORLD’S GREATEST
PUTTING CONTEST
IJGT’S RACE TO
SCOTLAND
Congratulations to BGGA student-athletes David
Xu and Maria Fedorowycz on earning the honor to
attend the IJGT Race to Scotland to play some of the
greatest courses in the world!
Last year’s players had the privilege of playing
Archerfield Links, Gullane Golf Club, North Berwick
Golf Club and The Old Course at St. Andrews. The
group will be escorted by BGGA coaches during their
March 16-23 trip.
Watch last year’s video of BGGA student-athletes in

Roll-up Putting on Saturdays has become an
institution at Bishops Gate between 11:30am and
1:00pm. It’s a voluntary, fun activity that is always
very well attended. Saturdays, just before 11:30, you
will see golf carts “racing” across the golf course
to the putting green for the on-time start. Andrew
Summers (and Snuffles) are almost always in
attendance, competing and promoting good banter.
The fast-paced 3x18 hole competition is designed to
be fun while honing key putting skills. We see a high
correlation between attendance at Roll-up Putting
and putting success at tournaments. In the words of
Ben Hogan, “There
are no shortcuts
in the quest
for perfection”.
Although at BGGA
we like to have a bit
of fun in our quest.
It was a wonderful
Roll-up Putting
month with a
competitive field!
Congratulations
John Daly Jr. and Teagan Devoe!
A special mention to
Klaudie Vrbskova who
won the overall putting (boys
and girls) on Saturday, January
26!
This exceptional achievement is
testament to her determination
and character having recently
recovered from a prolonged injury. Remarkable
achievement thanks in part to some recent putting
instruction from Coach Kevin Craggs! Remaining
focused and determined…despite the odds. A true
mark of a champion.
