The baby is sucked into it, and slowly torn apart as it is pulled out into space, screaming for his mommy all the while, even reaching out with his arms towards her, and Ripley doing nothing to soothe the poor child or save him. Then, the big ship arrives on Earth and crashes into it, exploding. The little ship lands, and Call the Android and Ripley the Un-mommy talk a bit about never having been there before and finding Earth a beautiful place. Thus end the Alien movies. guy made all four. But even that isn’t that noticeable - probably because the soundtracks back then weren’t made to be as fluid and weren’t as important in movies as they are now. The plot is paper-thin, and it’s mostly just people running for their lives, but that doesn’t make it any less fun to watch because despite that, it doesn’t get boring. I think that, considering that the first Alien movie came out 35 years ago, they can easily be considered ‘timeless’. And that’s a feat few movies manage to achieve. Enter the Alien vs Predator movies. Now here’s two movies I’m even more a fan of. I saw the first Alien vs Predator movie three times in the cinema, and watched it every day for two whole weeks when it came out on dvd. By now, I must have seen it over a hundred times. I admit, I saw the second a lot less, even if it is more fun and raises more interesting theories about both Aliens and Predators than the first movie. The second movie is forever ruined by the ending, for me. Movie one starts in 2004 (making it well over a century before the actual Alien-movies start taking place) with a satellite picking up a heat The music is creepy or loud, and not melodic like soundtracks are nowadays. Each Alien movie’s soundtrack was made by a different composer. I think that’s a shame, since it would’ve been more of a unity had one 21 // Alien: Isolation SE Magazine ARTICLE The movies are old, and it shows when you compare the technology used in it to the technology we now have, and when you look at the special effects and everything (and the fashion…). But for its time, it was the top of the bill. And despite it being old technology, it really doesn’t get old. You don’t miss the effects we now have. The Aliens worked perfectly for the movies, even if the movements were a little stiff here and there. The GameOn XY
