the s to show that there will be
more aliens in it. Surprisingly,
I’m sure no one saw it coming,
they lose contact with said
colony. I’ve always found it
a bit odd that that happened
only after Ripley was rescued
and not in any of the years
before, because it’s not like
the Xenomorphs to la y low.
Ripley is sent there along
with someone from the
Company (Weyland) and a
bunch of Colonial Marines
(cannon-fodder, anyone?).
They find the colony seemingly
abandoned, until they rescue a
traumatised young girl named
Newt (her parents must not
have loved her overly much).
All the other colonists seem
to be hanging out underneath
the cooling system of the
nuclear reactor the colony
runs on.
At the risk of blowing the
reactor up, the Marines then
go see what the colonists
are doing there. When they
arrive, it turns out they’re
used as breeders for more
Xenomorphs, who, after
having politely waited until
they found the colonists, come
‘out of the goddamn walls’ to
kill a bunch of Marines. From
then on, it’s Xenomorphs all
over the place, though the
humans buy themselves some
time with a few automatic
guns. I remember my heart
racing like formula one cars
when I watched that bit, just
waiting for more Xenomorphs
to arrive and the guns to run
out of ammo.
Just as in the first movie,
someone has a set of different
orders and wants to keep a
Xenomorph alive. This time,
they don’t have to kill the
traitor, it is done for them in
another Xenomorph attack.
The Xenomorphs capture
Newt and take her away, and
Ripley decides to go after
her, not wanting to leave the
little girl behind. I’m not sure
why the Xenomorphs killed
practically all the Marines,
but used all the colonists for
breeding and want to do the
same with Newt, but I’m sure
it makes perfect sense to
someone somewhere. When
Ripley finally manages to
get to Newt, she encounters
the Alien Queen in her eggchamber. I later learned in the
comics how highly improbable

it is for the Queen to be alone,
but she was a sight to behold
all the same.
So in a moment of insanity,
Ripley decides to destroy most
of the eggs there. She doesn’t
bother trying to kill the Queen,
so those would be replenished
quickly enough, but as
expected, this pisses off the
big lady to no end. She runs
after them, tearing herself
free from her eggsack (auch),
