raq goalkeeper Sayed Mohammed Jaffar.
Moments later, Waleed Al Hayam replied for Muharraq,
hitting a brilliant left-footed shot from distance that was stopped
from entering the net by Busaiteen goaley Hussain Haram.
Muharraq were rewarded with their first goal in the 19th
minute when Jalal received a brilliant through ball on the left of
the box. He managed to slot home from an acute angle with a
low left-footed effort that beat Haram.
Busaiteen were now down but not for long. Just 10 minutes
on, Ghaleb levelled the proceedings with a superb free-kick
from the right flank.
Ghaleb hit a left-footed shot from several feet outside the
box and his swerving kick made it into the top-left corner of
goal, flying above the head of Muharraq goalkeeper Jaffar.
Muharraq had other fine chances to go back ahead before
the half-time whistle, but Hussain Ali’s close-range effort was
saved by Haram and a long header from skipper Ebrahim Al
Meshkhas went right over the crossbar.
Both teams had fewer chances after the re-start.
Busaiteen’s Sayed Ahmed Jaafar and Sami Al Hossaini both
tried hard to get their names on the score sheet but could not
finish their chances.
Fellow-youngster Al Dakheel was also trying to make his
mark, and he managed to succeed with the winning goal just
eight minutes from full time.
Charging towards goal on the right, Al Dakheel hit a low
shot from a very acute angle and found the net with his effort.
Neither team seriously threatened the other from there,
even with four minutes of stoppage time given by the match
referee. THE GAME
