ahrain’s Al Hala Club outclassed Syria’s Al Jaish 106-89
last night to claim their first win in group ‘A’ of the
24th Fiba Asia Champions Cup, being played in Amman, reports Patrick Salomon.
American big man Jonathan Jones spearheaded the
Bahrainis in contest, scoring a game-high 33 points while
also grabbing a monster 10 assists.
Rashem Wright, Hala’s point guard who is also from the
US, chipped in with 21 big points while dishing out seven
assists in the process.
Bahraini guard Abbas Jawadi also came to life in the
game. He scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter
alone, which was when Hala blew open the close game and
turned it into a rout.
