raq goalkeeper Sayed Mohammed Jaffar.
Moments later, Waleed Al Hayam replied for Muharraq,
hitting a brilliant left-footed shot from distance that was stopped
from entering the net by Busaiteen goaley Hussain Haram.
Muharraq were rewarded with their first goal in the 19th
minute when Jalal received a brilliant through ball on the left of
the box. He managed to slot home from an acute angle with a
low left-footed effort that beat Haram.
Busaiteen were now down but not for long. Just 10 minutes
on, Ghaleb levelled the proceedings with a superb free-kick
from the right flank.
Ghaleb hit a left-footed shot from several feet outside the
box and his swerving kick made it into the top-left corner of
goal, flying above the head of Muharraq goalkeeper Jaffar.
Muharraq had other fine chances to go back ahead before
the half-time whistle, but Hussain Ali’s close-range effort was
saved by Haram and a long header from skipper Ebrahim Al
Meshkhas went right over the crossbar.
Both teams had fewer chances after the re-start.
