Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship, Award is $1,000. Deadline is January 30. Helps students understand the negative effects of too much screen time. To apply, students must complete an application form and 140-character message about technology addiction.

Captain Planet Foundation, Awards from $500 to $2,500. Deadline is January 31. Supports innovative hands-on environmental projects to encourage youth around the world to solve environmental problems in their homes, schools, and communities.

Driver Knowledge, Award is $1,000. Deadline is January 31. Encourages the mindset of helping the younger generation implement better and safer driving in and out of the workplace.

National Agriculture Day Essay Contest, Award is $1,000. Deadline is January 31. Available to all high school students who submit an original essay of 450 words or less, or a two-minute video on the following topic: “How will Agriculture Feed the World?”

Permit Bike Motorcycle Scholarship, Award is $1,000. Deadline is January 31. Encourages students to drive a in safe and healthy manner. Students must write a 500 to 1,000 word article about how safer motorcycle riding can be encouraged within a business and how it benefits the employees.

The Fountain Essay Contest - How to Face a Disaster, Awards from $150 to $1,000. Deadline is January 31. Students can apply by submitting a 1,500 to 2,500 word essay on how to survive difficult times through a disaster.

Travel is Education Scholarship, Award is $1,000. Deadline is January 31. Open to all students in grades 6 through 12 who submit a two-dimensional artwork, photos, or a writing on the theme, “The World in Your World.”

EngineerGirl Essay Contest, Award is $500. Deadline is February 1. Open to all male and female students in grades 3 through 12 who write a plea to their city or county council that makes the case for an infrastructure improvement and gives details of the suggested solution.

Frank M. & Gertrude R. Doyle Foundation, Awards vary. Deadline is February 1. Provides financial assistance to students who are graduating from Huntington Beach Union High School or is a current student at Coastline, Cypress, Fullerton, Golden West, Irvine Valley, Orange Coast College, Saddleback, Santa Ana, or Santiago Canyon Community Colleges.
