Three Cheers for the Arts!
CDE was awarded by Turnaround Arts: CA to continue
their participation in the Regional Coach Partner Program! In partnership with a small group of organizations across the state, OCDE will enhance their exemplary work in arts integration for schools. Lead by Steve Venz, the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator, the Regional Coach Partner program is in its second year at Willard Intermediate and Sierra Prep in Santa Ana Unified School District.
The goals of the program are to:
• Amplify collective impact in school reform in and through
the arts through strategic alignment of local arts;
• Partner with art organizations to provide support,
professional development, and capacity building in the
participating schools;
• Develop a regional support network to increase the
likelihood of long-term sustainability; and
• Highlight the positive work of the regional coach.
Each school will have five to ten staff members, including administrators and principals, receiving professional development at their sites at least two times a month. Once trained, staff members will bring their new techniques into the classroom. This grant is a great opportunity for these Santa Ana students to show their artistic talents!
