Friday 20th September – Nottingham, UK (Bodega)
“Friday night in Nottingham. Party night!!
Adam's parents came out to the show and
after we played the venue turned into a night
club, we all got drunk and danced the night
away.” - Mat
As soon as I got back to the bar I was
handed a Jägerbomb and a bunch of money
to get a round in. I drank about 4 beers in
the space of a few minutes and before I
knew I was at the same level as the rest of
the guys. There was a dance party going on
upstairs and of course Ciaran was all over
that.
I remember us making quite a quick exit via a kebab shop. I had a flatbread full of chips and salad.
We stroked a tramp’s dog and went back to Shank’s place to pass out.
Saturday 21st September – Birmingham, UK (The Institute)
“When we woke up and went to our van our windscreen had been cracked! I think every UK/ Europe tour
we've done our windscreens cracked.” - Mat
It looked as though someone had punched the windscreen as a result of an argument with a friend
or lover, a circle of cracked glass on the driver’s side of the windscreen. Bummer. At least it
happened in the UK where it was easy enough to replace. Adam phoned someone and made an
appointment to get it fixed and we made our way to Birmingham.
“Birmingham was such a fun time. Except loading in at The Institute involves carrying things up ten million
flights of stairs. A bunch of friends came out for this show, Lewis and Mark took us back to their flat and
made us pizza. Then in the morning cooked us all breakfast, it was probably the best place we've stayed
on tour.” – Mat
I don’t remember much of the show. Kate came along to this one as well to hang out. I was excited
to see Lewis again, as we’d hung with him the last time we were on tour and he was a great laugh.
Panda Watch opened this show.
Sunday 22nd September – Exeter, UK (The Cavern)
“Exeter was another show that loads of friends came out for. We played at the cavern, one of Paul's
favourite UK venues. Also we got to play with Arliss Nancy, really awesome guys. We saw the narrowest
street in the world" according to a plaque. We went back with a good friend Mark and ate a bunch of
toast and cheese.” - Mat
I had been excited about this show since I found out we’d be on the same show with Arliss Nancy. I
had become buddies with Cory on the internet after he recorded a cover for my label’s covers
compilation, and I’d met the rest of the band when they toured earlier in the year. Adam had toured
