I have always said that there is no way you could get me in my float tube in the harbor at night. What is that famous saying “Never say never” right. My first night trip was in the saltwater and it was one that I will remember for the rest of my life. It is not memorable for the bad things that happened it is memorable for all the fun that I had. But what made it so much fun was simple being prepared.

Of course when I go fishing like most the focus is on getting out there and not losing anytime in the process. But like any trip float tube fishing the better prepared you are the better the outcomes will be. So I will take some time listing out what I feel are needed items for a night trip as well as some of the things you need to be prepared for. Like always the Float Tube Fishing Forum does not recommend float tubing alone ever. Night time fishing is no exception to this rule. Fishing alone is really never much fun but float tubing with a buddy gives you that added safety. This is a most at night or at least until you are completely comfortable with what you are doing.
