Christian Hedonism is the conviction that God’s ultimate goal in the world - his glory and our deepest de-
sire - to be happy are one and the same because God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in
him. Not only is God the supreme source of satisfaction for the human soul, but God himself is glorified by
our being satisfied in him. Therefore, our pursuit of joy in him is essential.
I agree with this on many levels but that’s not the topic for today ). To read more on Christian Hedonism

Why it is important to note that depression is spiritual?
Because then we will know how to fight it and how do we do that?
Ephesians 6:12 is probably one of my favourite bible verses.
“Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authori-
ties operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and
evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage”. TPT
“This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours.
This is for keeps, a life or death fight to the finish against the devil and his angels”. MSG
The message here is clear. Depression is not a battle against flesh and blood – it isn’t a person – its spirits
and principalities that we have to fight. Depression is the devils’ weapon to keep us sad and in a state of
gloom. It’s his strategy to steal the little pockets of joys God leaves for us this side of heaven. He does that
sometimes by even leading us like dogs, to over-exercise these joys till they become bitter in our mouths.
This chapter is necessary because ultimately, after all, I will write and all you’ve read or heard about de-
pression, there is one solution – Jesus. He is the only one that can and has cured your depression for
good.
The next question is how does the devil get and keep us in depression. The answer is our minds and that
is the topic of the next chapter.
