Property Matters with Karen Banham
Many of you will already be aware
that here at BanhamDark the issue of
Dementia is very close to our hearts.
Sadly, according to recent reports, this
awful disease has now overtaken heart
disease and cancer as the number one
cause of death in England. their ideal home and they are now
looking forward to their move and
to starting the next chapter of their
lives. If you are looking to move and
Not only have we been affected
personally, but we are seeing more
and more situations where families are
coming to us because they need to sell
a home due to a loved one suffering
from dementia. Property of the Month
Thankfully the
better weather
has arrived and
together with
some fantastic
local events such

Rally we are once
again seeing an infl ux of tourists to
Felixstowe. This year it seems that we
are having far more enquiries from
people outside the area who have
visited the town in recent months and
now want to make it their home. This
can only be good news for property
prices as for some time now we have
been seen as the poor relation to
other Suffolk coastal resorts such as
Aldeburgh and Southwold but there
is no doubt that our fabulous town is
well and truly on the up. Recently I attended an event at the
Felixstowe Library to support the
wonderful initiative of Felixstowe
becoming a Dementia friendly
town. As part of this, our aim is for
BanhamDark to be recognised as a
Dementia Friendly business. More
news will follow in the coming weeks
but having experienced this fi rst hand,
my team and I are here to help and
support in any way we can.
Beach huts are also in high demand
and we are currently marketing several
of these in various locations. If you
are contemplating buying or selling a
hut, we can offer advice and guidance
regarding the process which fortunately
is somewhat quicker than a house sale!
Contact us for more information. Finally I have some good news to
report. You may remember that last
month I wrote about a lovely couple
whose house we had sold but they
were desperately searching for their
perfect retirement bungalow in Old
Felixstowe. Well, thanks to a reader
of this column, we have found them
