Auction Centre who they think very highly of . The herd is now up to 200 Friesian Holsteins . Most of their new calves come from a farm in the north east – Rob originally sourced them from the internet - of all places . One of the biggest challenges in establishing the herd was pneumonia – partly owing
to all the animals being in sheds . They took the decision to switch to calf hutches and have never looked back .
“ It was one of the best decisions I ever made ” Rob said .
The calves also grow quicker and all the sheds now have open sides .
